[LUNCH & LIVE] Fighting Back Against the Giant In You!

This week, we took a walk through the pages of 2 Samuel and stopped at the life of King David. And when you think of the life of David, one of two events probably come to mind. You either remember the time young David slew Goliath; or you remember the story in our lesson of when David committed adultery with Bathsheba. Both events were pivotal moments in the life of David. When David fought Goliath, he revealed his humility. In the second story when David sinned with Bathsheba, he revealed the fact of his humanity. When David met a giant named Goliath, we are privileged to witness his greatest victory. When David met Bathsheba, we are forced to watch his greatest defeat.

In this Bible teaching – “Fighting back against the giant in you”, I teach you strategies you can use as ammunition to slay the giants in your life!

Below is the replay to the call, additional scripture references used in the compiling of the study, a prayer and several of my study tools that you can use as you dive deeper into the word.

RECITE THIS PRAYER IN YOUR QUIET TIME:

Dear Heavenly Father:

Dear father, I come to you as humble as I know, first asking for forgiveness for anything I've said, done or thought that was not pleasing on your sight. I do not deserve mercy but the blood You have shed for me encourages me and therefore you don't give me what I deserve but instead you give me grace. How often I've offended You, repented, and yet have I again fallen into the same sin. And because of that Oh God, I am coming to you today recognizing where I've fallen short. I now know more confidently that in order to be faithful to You, I must place all my confidence in You. I will, whenever I am tempted, instantly run to You. You are my shelter God. I can run to you and be safe.

Until now, I have trusted in my own strength and finite knowledge. This has been the cause of my repeated failures and has caused me to be defeated by my internal giants.

But in your word in 1 Corinthians 10:13 it says that, "You are faithful; and You will not allow me to be tempted beyond what I can bear. And even when I am tempted, You will also provide a way out so that I can endure it."

From this day forward, You oh God are my strength, because of this, I can do all things - I can conquer my giants for your word says “I can do all things through You who gives me strength.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
